Newday Leadership is not like other leadership organisations. Everything they do is in support of the mission of connecting people with ‘inspired leadership for the greater good’.
They invite extraordinary people to share what it means to be a ‘Newday leader’ — a person whose motivation goes beyond the individual.
Today they build from a strong community of more than 2500 leaders who support and drive corporate social responsibility initiatives, wellbeing programs, ethical enterprises and community campaigns and services.
This Commission was itself inspired by what a new day could mean. I started at the beginning….’dawn’ and studied what happened to the light as the break of day happened.
It was magical! It happened in just a breath of time, the space between blinking your eyes - the dawn offered a purple hue which bathed everything within its reach. The colours were variations of an iridescent lilac - reminding me of the ultraviolet lights that are used to disinfect objects. My interpretation was that the colours of dawn are Nature’s way of cleansing away the old and starting fresh.
What a fitting metaphor for the client, Newday.
This painting ( acrylic on canvas ) was used as a screen saver for participants to use as a daily reminder - that every day there is an opportunity to start afresh, to shed the day before.
